I have the knack for finding odd things on the internet. However, this little gem came from word of mouth from a friend. I didn't believe her so when I got home, I did some googling. Turns out she was not kidding!
Like millions of other girls, I grew up playing with Barbie dolls. I had quite the collection of dolls and accessories and even made clothes for them when my mother put her foot down and said she wasn't going to buy any more because I had enough! I mean really, Barbie could never have too many clothes! I happily designed new outfits and worked diligently to make sure my dolls were well dressed in the newest styles.
I spent many hours dressing and posing them, and making believe they were going on trips and doing wild and wonderful things. My sister also collected the dolls, and even though she annoyed me to no end, we declared peace long enough every once in awhile to play in our Barbie world. Between us we had a lot, and I do mean a lot of dolls!
I was ahead of my time. Seriously.
Take a look at this--the new Barbie, Swappin' Styles. Buy one doll, and then instead of buying another doll that has a different look, just buy an exchangeable head for$6 bucks. If I had pursued this when I was younger, I would be rich right now!
I exchanged heads on the dolls all the time. I'm not sure why I did, but I did. Maybe one reason was because it made my sister utterly pissed off and I loved to make her mad. Of course, she got the maddest when she got out her dolls and found Ken's head on a Barbie body and visa versa. And well, now that I think about it, she got mad when one of her dolls ended up hanging from the maple tree. She was also a little bit fired up when I buried her dolls' heads in the yard. But I digress---
